The basic components of an alarm will work in any car. This includes the starter disable, impact sensor (when included), parking light flash and siren. Most alarms also include a keyless entry feature, which will only work on vehicles that have electronic doorlocks.

This depends on your vehicle. Some vehicles will need extra relays for interfacing with factory doorlock systems or additional accessories like remote trunk release. While the installation is not terribly difficult, it is also not a job for beginners. It does require a reasonable amount of automotive/electronics aptitude. A pro can install most alarms in about 1.5 - 2 hours, most people will take longer.

Having or not having power doorlocks will not affect the remote start. If you want the keyless entry feature however, power doorlocks are a must. If your car does not have power doorlocks but you'd like to have keyless entry, we stock a variety of power lock upgrade kits.
