Remote Car Start FAQ Page
This page is a work in progress. If you have any comments or suggestions PLEASE email us at sales@mypushcart.com. Thanks!

Q. How do I know if this remote start will work in my car?
Remote starts will work in almost any car that has an automatic transmission and fuel injection (Most cars built in the last 20 years have some type of fuel injection).

The only real exception is some newer cars that have anti-theft systems which work with a small transmitter built into the ignition key. In order to install a remote start in one of these vehicles, you'll need a "transponder". Click here for a list of vehicles which require transponders.

Q. Are there any other parts I need for installation?
This depends on your vehicle. Vehicles may need extra relays for interfacing with factory doorlock systems, powering multiple ignition circuits, or additional accessories like remote trunk release. If you're not sure what your car needs, email your model/year. We'd be happy to provide you with a detailed list. Relays, transponders and doorlock adapters are all available and may be purchased with your remote start. We will supply you with wiring diagrams that will show you how to use any extra parts you may need.

Q. What if I have a manual transmission?
Most remote starts are designed for cars with automatic transmissions and should not be used on manuals.. We do stock several specialty models which are made for manuals. You can find them in our Ebay Store.

Q. How hard is it to install?
While the installation is not terribly difficult, it is also not a job for beginners. If you have ever installed an alarm, it's pretty comparable to that, and requires a reasonable amount of automotive/electronics aptitude. A pro can do it in about 1.5 - 2 hours, most people will take longer.

Q. What if I don't have power doorlocks?
Having or not having power doorlocks will not affect the remote start. If you want the keyless entry feature however, power doorlocks are a must. If your car does not have power doorlocks but you'd like to have keyless entry, we stock a variety of power lock upgrade kits.

Q. What if I have an alarm in my car?
Most of our remote starts have a bypass wire which will connect to your alarm and disable it when the remote start is activated. We also sell "add-on" remote starts which can be activated by your existing factory or aftermarket alarm or keyless entry.

Q. Does it work with a diesel?
Our remote starts have a special input for vehicles with diesel engines.
