UltraStart Remote Starts for Vehicles with Manual Transmissions |
|
| Here's how they work: A conventional remote start simply can't be safely installed in a vehicle with a manual transmission. There is no way the system could verify the car is in neutral before engaging the starter. Trying to start a car that's in gear is very bad. Ultrastart "M" Series remote starts connect to the pinswitches in your doors and have microprocessors that require a special sequence of event to happen in order for the remote start to engage. TO INSURE SAFE STARTING OF MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLES 1. With the vehicle running, apply the park brake then press & release the brake pedal. 2. The park lights will flash to confirm that "reservation mode" has been activated. 3. Remove key from ignition, and exit the vehicle. (vehicle will remain running) 4. The vehicle will shut off when the door is closed. (If your vehicle has a delay dome-light, the vehicle may run until the dome-light turns off) The vehicle is now in "reservation mode" and can be remote started. The system knows the car is in neutral, because you left it running and exited the vehicle. If a door is opened (creating the possibility that someone could have put the car in gear) "reservation mode" is cancelled and the car will not remote start. |
